Get out of bed to turn it off.
QRAlarm is an alarm clock that requires you to physically get up and scan a QR code before your alarm mission is completed.
Getting started
- Create a QR mission — Missions tab → Create Mission. Give it a name, generate the code, then Share, Save Image or Print it.
- Place the code away from your bed — somewhere you must walk to: the bathroom mirror, the kitchen, the front door. Keep it fixed and well lit.
- Create an alarm — Alarms tab → +. Choose the time, repeat days, sound, vibration and the mission that stops it. Allow notifications when asked so the alarm can alert you while the app is closed.
- When it rings — tap SCAN QR, walk to your code and scan it. Only the code for the assigned mission stops the alarm.
Frequently asked questions
The alarm rang but I didn't hear it for long.
While the app is closed, iOS lets QRAlarm alert you with notifications: the first at alarm time, then one every minute for ten minutes. Each notification sound is limited by iOS to 30 seconds. As soon as you open a notification (or the app), the alarm sound plays continuously until you scan. For the most reliable wake-up: keep notifications enabled, keep the phone charged, and don't force-quit the app before bed.
My alarm didn't ring at all.
Check Settings → Notifications in QRAlarm (or iOS Settings → QRAlarm → Notifications). Check that the alarm is switched on and that no Focus mode is blocking time-sensitive notifications. If the phone was powered off at alarm time, one-time alarms are turned off automatically rather than ringing the next day.
The scanner says "Wrong QR code".
Each mission has its own unique code. Make sure you're scanning the code for the mission assigned to that alarm (the mission name is shown on the ringing screen). Other QR codes — Wi-Fi codes, websites, another mission's code — are rejected on purpose.
I deleted the mission and now the alarm can't be stopped.
The alarm will show a "Hold to stop" button whenever its mission no longer exists, so you're never trapped. Assign a new mission to the alarm afterwards.
Can I use the code on my Mac or a tablet instead of paper?
Yes. Save or share the image and display it on any screen — as long as it's somewhere you have to get up to reach.
I travelled to another time zone.
Alarms are stored as local clock times, so a 7:00 alarm stays 7:00 wherever you are.
What does Premium include?
Unlimited alarms and QR missions, Double Scan missions, the full sound pack, advanced statistics and streaks, and accent themes. The free version includes 2 alarms, 1 mission, two tones and basic statistics.

What data does QRAlarm collect?
